Corporate Services Division (CSD)

Role: Manages the day-to-day operations of SROS, encompassing finance, human resources, IT, marketing, administration, and general operations.

Leadership & Team Structure: Headed by a Division Manager, comprising 3 finance staff, 2 administration officers, and 1 mechanic/maintenance support officer.

Finance Team

Core Financial Management: Oversees all financial matters in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act 2001.

Budgeting & Reporting: Handles budget preparation and control, quarterly/annual financial reports, and the annual review of the corporate plan.

Analysis & Purchasing: Conducts financial performance analysis of research projects and cost-benefit analyses; manages local/overseas purchases and consumable stock.

Advisory: Provides financial guidance to management and project leaders.
Administration & Human Resources (HR)

HR Management: Manages staff recruitment, contracts, performance, conduct, training, development, and discipline in line with the SROS HR Policy Manual, SROS Act 2008, and Samoa’s Labor and Employment Act 1972.

General Support: Handles non-finance corporate services, including clerical/secretarial support, official correspondence, meeting/event coordination, travel and accommodation arrangements, record keeping, and the switchboard.

Safety: Oversees occupational health and safety (OHS) issues.
Marketing & Public Relations

Brand Promotion: Promotes SROS’s profile, technical offerings, and consultancy services, while executing targeted marketing strategies for applied science research programs.

Partnerships & Funding: Identifies and secures funding partnership opportunities with international governments, organizations, and agencies.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Strengthens partnerships across the private, public, and NGO sectors to stimulate Samoa’s economy through scientific research.
Information Technology (IT)

Core Functions: Provides high-quality IT management and support to meet organizational technology needs.

Key Duties: Manages the SROS website, network & systems infrastructure and delivers general maintenance and technical support services.
