The Scientific Research Orginisation of Samoa wants to search for the cure to cancer using native Samoan plants and organisms as the basis of the research.

Technical Manager of the Technical Services Division, Pousui Dr Fiame Leo and Research Scientist Viliamu Ah Sam have returned from two weeks of training in New Zealand’s prestigious Maurice Wilkins Centre, where they learned the basic foundations of cancer research.

Masuisuiolemalietoa Dr. Seeseei Molimau-Samasoni, at the young age of 34 has been offered an Adjunct Associate Professorship at the University of the Sunshine Coast Australia in Postharvest Horticulture. This follows years of research collaborations with Professor Steven Underhill spanning small-holder farmer workshops and trainings, municipal market throughput analyses and laboratory-based research to improve market access of Samoan agricultural produce.
